Hi, I’m Don
I created and coded MovingToVictoriaBC.ca to give people a more personal way to learn about Victoria. I was born and raised here, and I wanted the site to feel more like getting advice from someone who knows the city than reading a generic relocation checklist.
For Moving Here, or Visiting First
The main focus is still moving to Victoria: neighbourhoods, schools, housing, local services and what everyday life is actually like. I also think spending time here first is a good way to decide if Victoria suits you. That’s why the site includes beaches, local history, lesser-known places, parks, shopping and other parts of everyday Victoria.
A Local Real Estate Perspective
I’m also an Associate Broker with Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, so real estate is naturally part of the site. I try to keep the site useful if you’re ready to buy, still comparing neighbourhoods, or simply wondering if Victoria might be right for you someday.
Built by a Person, Not a Big Travel Company
I’ve been building websites and online tools for more than two decades. This one is intentionally simple: useful pages, readable text, local photos and practical links. If something is outdated or you know of a good addition, send me a message. I read the site feedback myself.
Other Local Projects
You can also find some of my other Victoria-area projects at Victoria.Condos, Victoria Luxury Real Estate, SookeHomes.ca, and my Introduction.me page.
